“ WHERE COMPASSION MEETS PURPOSE, AND HOPE FINDS A HOME.”

Vision

To love humanity through acts of selfless service where every touch, every care, becomes a silent prayer.

Mission

To serve with courage and empathy and reaching the unseen, hearing the unheard, and standing beside those who stand alone.

At Samara Foundation:

We Believe That To Love Is To Serve

And we see ourselves as a tree planted by the riverside, rooted in purpose, nourished by compassion, and reaching out with open arms. In every season, whether in sunshine or storm, we strive to be a source of life for the community around us by offering shade without judgment, bearing fruit without expectation, and standing firm with quiet strength. Every project we envision—be it in education, health, elder care, or empowerment, extended in love. Like a tree that gives generously to all who seek rest under its canopy.
We believe true transformation begins when giving becomes unconditional, and service becomes a way of life.

Note from the Founder

My journey was shaped by a legacy of compassion — deeply rooted in my family, who gave selflessly to those in need. From an early age, I was taught that service is not an act, but a way of life.
The seeds of my commitment to elder care were planted during childhood visits to old age homes, where moments of connection revealed the profound impact of being present, listening, and caring. That sense of purpose never left me.
As a medical student, I was drawn to the margins — volunteering in destitute shelters and slum clinics, seeking ways to ease suffering. One turning point came while distributing free medicines in an underserved community. I realized then that the true cure extended beyond treating illness. If even one child in each family could be empowered through education, the cycle of poverty could be broken, and a future of dignity restored.
Despite limited resources, Mr. Anand and I dedicated ourselves to educating and supporting those we could. But we knew that to truly expand the circle of care, we needed a collective effort — a platform to unite kindred spirits who shared the same calling.
Thus, Samara Foundation was born — not just as a charitable trust, but as a movement of compassion. A sanctuary for those who cannot afford the care they deserve. A voice for those too often left unheard.
Through Samara, we reaffirm a simple truth: Every life matters, and every act of care holds the power to transform.
With hope and humility,

Dr. Reena Mathew

Projects

INITIATIVES BY SAMARA

The Saplings

Samara Community College

At Samara Foundation, one of our most heartfelt initiatives is the Samara Community College for Caregivers. We open doors for young people from challenging backgrounds who were unable to complete their education, giving them a second chance to build a meaningful future.
Here, students are welcomed into a nurturing environment where they are trained and equipped with skills that provide both livelihood and dignity. Through comprehensive caregiver training, they learn to assist patients with confidence, compassion, and professionalism.
To ensure each learner can focus on personal and professional growth, we offer hostel accommodation and nutritious meals, along with a stipend to support them through their journey. On completing the program, graduates are empowered with valuable skills and employment opportunities—both within Samara and beyond—enabling them to step out as capable, independent, and service-oriented individuals ready to make a difference in the lives of others.

The Seed

Supporting Education, Empowering Dreams

Through our SEED Project (Supporting Education, Empowering Dreams), Samara Foundation is committed to helping children and young people who face financial barriers to completing their education.
We provide school and college fees so that no child’s learning is interrupted because of a lack of resources. With the support of our generous donors and in partnership with like-minded foundations, we ensure that every deserving student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
Each case is thoughtfully reviewed to identify genuine need, and we step in to bridge the gap—giving students the freedom to focus on their studies and envision a brighter future. In 2025 alone, we were able to support many young people in continuing their education and moving closer to fulfilling their aspirations.
At Samara, we believe that every seed of learning has the power to grow into a flourishing tree of opportunity.

The Healing Bark

Samara Medical Outreach & Camps

At Samara Foundation, one of our core initiatives is conducting medical camps, both in-house and in rural areas. We regularly set up camps in places such as Budhigere, Tarbanahalli, Devanahalli, and many other villages. We also reach out to leprosy communities, providing not just medical attention but also essential medicines.
We organize 18 medical camps in year
• Annually 6 rural outreach camps
• 12 in-house medical camps
Over the years, we have conducted 22–25 camps, reaching hundreds of poor families, leprosy patients, and people in need, ensuring that healthcare and dignity reach even the most marginalized.

The Deep Roots

Honouring The Journey Of Our Elders – Geriatric & Palliative Care

We believe that our elders are the roots and foundation of our lives. They deserve love, respect, and dignity in their later years. For many years, we have been caring for seniors at subsidized costs, making support affordable for families in need.
As more people began seeking a place that combined affordability with genuine compassion, we envisioned Deep Roots
Deep Roots is more than a senior care home. We strive here to make the last chapters of their lives as beautiful as the stories they’ve lived. Even as some slip through fragile memories and prepare to walk to the other side, we surround them with gentleness, blessings, and care.

The Listening Branch

Samara Counselling Program Where Every Voice FInds A Place To Rest

The Listening Branch – Counseling & Emotional Support is one of the greatest challenges in our communities today is the rising struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts. At Samara Foundation, we believe no one should have to walk through this valley alone. Through our initiative, The Listening Branch, we reach out to people in crisis with:
Professional counseling programs led by well-trained counselors at very subsidized costs. Therapy programs and support networks to help people find healing and resilience.
Opportunities to become volunteers, giving them a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. Our goal is simple: to be that “leaning branch” of support until each person can stand strong again in hope and dignity.

The Blossoms Initiative

Samara’s  Women Empowerment Programs

For women emerging from broken marriages, painful pasts, or serious health challenges, Blossoms offers a safe haven of care and renewal. We help them to heal from within, and we also equip them with meaningful skills so, they find purpose and stability through employment within our programs—serving as caregivers, nursing aides, kitchen staff, or other supportive roles.
Alongside this, Blossoms extends its reach to rural communities through tailoring empowerment units. In partnership with like-minded organizations, we establish centers in remote villages where women receive professional training in tailoring. We provide essential materials, cover tutoring fees, and offer ongoing mentorship, enabling participants to gain steady income and financial independence. Over the past year, several new units have been launched, creating sustainable opportunities for women to thrive in their own communities.
